Mark Making / Personal Identity

Map that represents me.

Unity

Objective was to use clean lines and create a fluid grapahic of protest or persuasion. The idea for this one came to me after seeing Zebra by Victor Vasareley

Figure / Ground

We were to create a black and white composition or design that attempts to communicate to a place. Two stencils were made and the print was placed on the front and back of a t-shirt.

Grids, Scale, and Proportion

We were suppose to chose a silhouette of an animal, scale it up, and make a collage of images/objects that relate to the animal. I chose a turtle. Finding things for the turtle was a bit difficult so i went my own route and placed things that symbolized its endangermemt.

Patterning

The objective was to create a pattern which represented science in someway. I choose to make mine out of embroidery thread. It is suppose to be a Yin-Yang symbol that represents the balance of life and nature.

Composition, Value, and Color

The objective was to design a book cover, with good composition, value, and color. I ended up liking these two out of the six.
